Join us for 7 days and 6 nights as we explore the famous Outer Banks of North Carolina. I have lived in Raleigh, NC for 30 years and the Carolina Coast never ceases to amaze me. The Outer Banks is a 200-mile long string of Islands off the coast of SE Virginia and North Carolina. They cover most of the North Carolina coastline, separating Currituck Sound, Albemarle Sound, and Pamlico Sound from the Atlantic Ocean. The Outer Banks is steeped in history including the site of England's first settlement in the New World, the site of Orville and Wilbur Wright's first-ever airplane flight as well as handed down stories of Pirates, shipwrecked boats and buried treasure. Our photographic journey includes 7 days and 6 nights exploring all of the Outer Banks by way of the NC Ferry system from Ocracoke Island all the way to Corolla (at the Virginia border). We will photograph sunrise and sunset, beaches and sand dunes, wildlife, and lighthouses along the way. We will photograph 4 of the most well known NC lighthouses including Ocracoke, Hatteras, Bodie, and Currituck ending our journey in Corolla driving the sandy beaches in search of the wild horses. If weather permits, we will photograph the Milky Way over either the Bodie or Hatteras Lighthouse. The Outer Banks of NC is listed on the National dark sky registry, meaning it is one of the best places in the country to do astrophotography on a clear night! Please contact me for details.
